Along with an audience of VIP guests, including esteemed Affinity users, corporate clients and journalists from the creative press, viewers from all over the world tuned in to watch the livestream of the keynote presentation made by our managing director, Ashley Hewson.
In addition to the pre-announced official launch of Affinity Publisher, he revealed two exciting, surprise developments we’ve been waiting to share.
The first of which, was Affinity Publisher’s game-changing StudioLink feature. This is something we’ve been working on for a very long time and we were delighted to finally reveal its revolutionary capabilities at Affinity Live.
The first technology of its kind, StudioLink allows you to directly link to your other Affinity apps through Affinity Publisher, meaning you can instantly switch to the advanced photo editing features of Affinity Photo and precise vector tools of Affinity Designer without ever leaving the app. Check out our Focus on StudioLink article to find out more!
Secondly, although Affinity Publisher for iPad is scheduled for release next year, it was revealed that users of Affinity on iPad will have the ability to open and edit Publisher layouts straight away, thanks to the development of a new page navigator function for Affinity Designer and Photo for iPad. Cool, eh?

Guests also had the opportunity to check out our demo area where they could test out StudioLink, use Affinity Designer on Sidecar and see just how incredible it is working with Affinity apps on Mac when Metal compute acceleration is enabled. We also had an HDR monitor set up to show how amazingly crisp images created in Affinity can look on these cutting-edge screens.
We also had the pleasure of the world’s number one snooker player, Ronnie O’Sullivan, in attendance. We recently sponsored Ronnie in the Snooker World Championship and much to the delight of staff and guests, he was happy to oblige when challenged to a cheeky game of pool—who could resist the chance to play such a legend!
And of course, it wouldn’t be Affinity Live without an after party! Guests were invited to join us at the iconic Penny Lane arcade bar in the heart of Nottingham to continue the celebrations—and dabble in a game or two!
